We read a book called hatupatu and the birdwoman and we had a task of working with a buddy and dividing the sequences into six pictures. Mary The Very Scary Fairy

There once was a fairy called Mary. She was a very delightful berry. Mary spent all of her life so far in the deep dark forest. Where there was no peep and she was asleep. As days flew by, she got bored and bored and bored, as she snored and snored and snored. That very delightful berry was now a very sour cherry.

She had nobody to comfort her, it was all a blur. So she decided to keep herself busy. Instead of getting dizzy. So Mary flew from one house to another, and this time it was Joe’s house. The one with the pet mouse.  Mary tried to creep but instead she leaped and shouted…  ”BOO!”. But it sounded like a moo. After she scared Joe the one with the bow, she saw a wintery rose but chose to make Joe even more scared and unprepared... She hid under Joe’s bed where there was a sled. Mary started to push Joe’s bed up. The then there was a pup.“That will be sure to leave Joe with chills up his spine, not like mine” Mary said sounding amused and not confused. Joe woke up in tears and he was downstairs. He didn't like what Mary did to him So he decided to take a swim.

Joe went back to sleep and when he woke up he was in a jeep.In the morning when it seemed boring. He started to hatch a plan, But first he wanted to go to the capital of japan. His plan was to get revenge and scare her back something like a wolf pack. Joe wanted to make Mary scared and not prepared, so that she'll know what it was like for Joe with the bow. So there was a lot of researching on the internet and there was infinite paths for Joe. to find out where mary shined. Finally Joe comes across a kindly little village and he spots lots of little dots with some bots but he knew they were fairies that had some berries. A few days later the skater decided to skate to his destination and he listened to the radio station. Soon after Joe saw a bus station. Joe kept driving and striving. “Finally we're here” Joe spoke with a tear.

Later in the day Joe came across some hay and a village that has fairies with some berries. Joe boomed“they don’t look like fairies” as he looked confused. Joe ambled through this place as it looked like a disgrace he had never been before. Joe came across a little hut that the boss it had a sign by the bus line, with Mary’s name on it. He crept steadily and readily and ROAR!   But it sounded like a bore, It was Joe scaring Mary this time it was like a crime. Again like mary he crawled under her bed but you could see Joe’s head. and instead of shaking and making her bed go up and down like a clown. Joe felt a breeze come through so he got her shoe and banged it on the ground and all he heard was…   AHHHHHHHHHH! But it was like a BAAAAAAAAA.  It was the sound of some sheep screaming in fright like they had a flea bite on a international night flight.

A few hours later when Joe was a skater. He left all the fairies with the berries and cherries. Mary the scary fairy, had a think about how Joe the one with the beard must of been scared. She thought about how she felt when Joe the one that has one million bows scared her.

Later on, at about eight at pine tree state. There was a little tap at the window like there was a bat at the window beside Joe. It was Mary the very scary fairy. So Joe opened the window and Mary said “I'm sorry for scaring you Joe with all the bows I only did it because I was bored and didn’t have a sword to play with. “I know how you feel because you scared me and I didn’t like it so I am very very very sorry!” Joe excepted Mary’s apology and he announced as he bounced up and down in joy“I am so sorry too for scaring you!”So Mary excepted Joe’s apology.

Suddenly out of the blue like he was at the zoo Joe exclaimed “Mary the very scary fairy now is Mary the Very sweet fairy”, and ever since then the weather has been better and they have been the friends that are now blessed.

Adding and subtracting decimals

W.A.L.T: Add and subtract decimal numbers.

This week in maths we have been learning about adding and subtracting decimals and one of our tasks was to make a D.L.O about adding and subtracting decimals and include some word problems to test the audience and this is mine. Something I enjoyed was making the quiz, something I did well was making the D.L.O and something I could do better next time would be to explain how to add and subtract decimals a bit more and add some more questions for the quiz.

 

Saint Patrick

This week in R.E we had to pick a saint, do some research and make a D.L.O about their timeline, I picked Saint Patrick. Something I enjoyed was finding out the information about Saint Patrick, something I did well was making the D.L.O and something I could do better next time could be to include some pictures of me own.

Using A Scale

Inside a life of a seed inside a watermelon

This week in writing we have been writing stories but in past tense. My story is inside a life of a seed inside a watermelon.

 I enjoyed thinking of what I seed inside a watermelon does, something I did well was add great information about the seeds inside a watermelon and something I could do better next time would be to add more descriptive words to make the reader more hooked in.  

Planning

Inside a life of a seed inside a watermelon

I was on the move in big watermelon, I smelt something and it was a very unpleasant smell. I realized I am on a stinky old truck that has been used for years. I had finally reached my destination at the supermarket, as I sat and waited on the shelf with nothing to do, but wait for the time to come, it became seconds, minutes then days, now I was feeling quite depressed because none of the customers had picked the watermelon that I was in up and put us in their trolley.

One day I woke up and I was moving, I realized that it was a human and he had scooped the the watermelon that I was in up with his two hands and into their trolley. You may be wondering what are my feelings at this stage, I am feeling quite excited because I could see the outside world and I know I would be put to good use. ( people would want to eat me )

I was currently now in the customers trolley, being pushed around from side to side and rolling back and forth. Finally we came this thing I had never seen before it looked like you put food on it and when you push a button the food comes to the packer I thought that was pretty cool. So off I go in a bag with my friend rockmelon and some of my old friends. What I was feeling now was really surprised  because, someone invented this thing to help the packers and something that will make it faster for the customers.

So now I was in a fruit bowl with my friends rockmelon, apple, orange, banana, pear, apricot and plum at the customer's house. After a few days the day finally came for the customer to cut the watermelon up and eat me, so my feelings right now were worried because when the customer cuts the watermelon up nobody knows if the customer who brought us is going to be nice, and cut the us with care or if they are not careful and they cut me the seed inside the watermelon. So the razor sharp knife started cutting into the watermelon and I kept saying to myself “please don't cut me, please don't cut me” and before I knew it the cutting part was over and it was on to the eating part.

The customer had cut the watermelon into slices,  He started to put the watermelon into his mouth, He stopped and started picking the black seeds inside the watermelon out and put them into the bin. At this stage I was thinking to myself why is he doing that you can eat the seeds but I discovered that he was a fussy eater.

As I sat at the bottom it the bin, I started to fall out and into this place that had lots of space, then I noticed it was a huge rubbish bin. I was sinking to the bottom when I started to slip out to the huge rubbish bin and into this space where I could clearly see the outside world. I started to move with lots of other foods that had been in that rubbish bin. The scene started to turn foggy. I tried to move around so I could see but it was happening but no luck because I couldn’t move, because I haven't got any limbs to help me.

I stopped and I tumbled down through my friends orange and banana’s peel along with some lawn clippings into a mysterious world that I had never seen before. I started rolling down a steep hill and I ended up in and really deep hole. Ever since then I have been trying to find my way out and it has been no use.

Gymnastics Dance

This term we have been doing gymnastics for our P.E and with a group of four we had to make up a gymnastics routine.

Something I enjoyed was coming up with the routine, something I did well was communicating with my group and something I could do better next time would be to add more motions to the dance.

Area, Perimeter and volume

W.A.L.T: Calculate the area, perimeter and volume of different shapes.

For the last few weeks we have been learning about how to calculate the area, perimeter and volume of shapes and this week we had to make a D.L.O about the area, perimeter and volume of three different things we can find around the class room and this is mine.

I enjoyed thinking of what to calculate, what I did well was calculating the area, perimeter and volume of things and what I could do better next time would be to add more things to calculate and add more pictures to make it more interesting. 

Pick A Path Story

W.A.L.T: Use appropriate language features for a pick a path story.
 This week in writing our class had a task of learning about pick a path stories and we had to make one on a google form and this is mine. I enjoyed thinking of my pick a path story, what I did well was ending the paths well and what I could do better next time would be to add more sections and more paths to make it more interesting.

Children In Northern Ireland

This term we have been learning about social justice, and we had to create our own inquiry about children in our country we wanted to learn about and I wanted to learn about Northern Ireland so this is mine. Something I enjoyed was making the game, something I did well was putting the information into my own words and something I would do better next time would be to put more information about the children.

This week in maths we have been learning about how to work out the Perimeter and Area of shapes. and I have made a D.L.O about the Perimeter and Area of shapes. Something I enjoyed was using my imagination on how to present the Perimeter and Area of some shapes, something I did well was explaining how to Calculate the Perimeter and Area of squares, rectangles and triangles and something I can do better next time would be to have everything more spaced out and not crowded.

The Church Is One But Not Perfectly One.

                         W.A.L.T... Explain what is meant by saying the church is one. But not completely one.

This week in reading we have been learning about how the Church is one but it is not perfectly one, and we had to choose some activities from a list to do and I chose this one, we have to follow the instructions in the slideshow.

Something I enjoyed was add in the images of the catholic church's from each continent, something I did well was adding the names of some non - catholic denominations and something I could do better next time would be to add more images on slide four so that it is more interesting.

Is Graffiti art or is it just messy?

This week we were given a a question Is Graffiti art or is it just messy? and we were given task in writing to choose a side and write a piece of persuasive writing about graffiti and this is mine.

Something I enjoyed was getting the facts about graffiti, something I did well was the graffiti I made and something I can do better next time would be to add more facts to convince the reader more about graffiti.

Is Graffiti art or is it just messy?

I strongly believe that  graffiti is messy. In my opinion graffiti is just people scribbling in places. I feel it  makes places messy and dirty.

Have you ever thought about graffiti? Have you ever stopped to think if graffiti is art or messy? In the following you will be hearing some facts that will make you have another think about graffiti and how bad it is.

One reason, graffiti is bad is because it destroys places and things and it makes places look very untidy and messy. If you get caught  tagging there are lots of consequences that might happen to you depending how old you are, some of them are: you could go to jail for ten years, you could have to do community service and  you could have to pay for the damage costs if it is more than £5,000.  

Moving on from the last paragraph, another reason why Graffiti is messy is because when people tag places, other people have to spend their time and money on cleaning up the graffiti. In fact the Christchurch city council spends nearly  $800,000 on removing the Graffiti and spends up to 2 million a year.( that's a lot ) They find graffiti in all kinds of places like: On Footpaths, roads and lamp posts on Boundary fences at schools, parks, property frontages and walkways and on frontages of  business places.

The final reason why graffiti is bad is because it’s illegal, if people don't have permission to graffiti and in places then it's illegal, not only illegal but it influences other people to do the same things. If other people see that kind of stuff then there is going to be more graffiti, that means more time and more money to clean the graffiti up.

In conclusion Graffiti is bad for everyone and everything,  from the people who graffiti and  clean it up to the people who look at it every day. People have to spend a lot of money cleaning up graffiti and trying to remove it. I strongly believe that graffiti is a waste of time and needs to stop because at the end of the day people, like the city council will have to remove it and you may be the ones getting consequences. After reading this, what do you stand for is graffiti art or is it just messy?

A Picture Using A Compass

In reading we have been learning about The church a Pilgrim people and we had to choose some activities and one of the activities I did this. we had to design a symbol that illustrates the pilgrim church and this is mine.

Freedom To Stand Up To Your Own Beliefs.

This week our class were given a task to create a quote with a pictures about freedom, and this is mine. We were given a choice of doing it on the Chromebooks or paper and I chose paper because it is easier to draw free handed.

Something I enjoyed was making the pictures more colourful, something I did well was coming up with the quote and making the words stand out, something I can do better next time would be to spend more time and make the drawing even better.

My quote says " No matter who you are, where you come from, everyone should have the freedom to stand up to their own beliefs." and the person says " My belief is Nobody should be privileged over others. We should be allowed to live in a world with peace and no hate."

Climate Change Officer Job Advertisement.

W.A.L.T: Describe the qualities of someone who is an effective advocate tor others.

This week in reading we were given the task to create a job advertisement describing the necessary  qualities needed for a climate change officer, and this is mine.

I enjoyed creating this advertisement, something I did well was going into detail with the advertisement and something I can do better next time would be to add more information on where the climate change offer would work.

Climate Change Officer Job Advertisement

A Climate Change Officer is someone who helps countries manage and survive with some of the serious effects of climate change. They come up with plans to make sure if anything bad happens they have something to help or keep people safe.

To be a Climate Change Officer these are some of the responsibilities you will more then likely need: Arrange something like a warehouse so that there are supplies there that can be shipped to somewhere within days in case there is emergency somewhere, come up with some ideas for plans to help people if they are in trouble, try to get a message out on how to reduce climate change like: turn the lights out when you leave the room, unplug the chargers when you are not using them and if it's a cold day outside put warm clothes instead of putting the heat pump on.

These are the skills, experience and knowledge you will need to have to be a climate change officer: You should not be scared to take risks, you should have the experience of 2 years, you should have the knowledge of all the weather that could happen and know all about climate change to be in this role.

These are the rewards you will get if you are the climate change officer: Once a month you will visit each poor country that have been affected from climate change and get some toys and give them to the babies/children and spend the day with them. You will also get to go to each poor country and give them food and fresh water once a week. Once a week you will get paid $800 to do whatever you want but every second week you have an option to keep the $800 or you can put some of it towards helping people adapt to climate change.

To be an climate change officer you will be working in different areas like work in the office and on scene. If there is a really bad disaster you will more likely be coming to help because the more people the better.

If you are applying you will need to know the company better, so if you haven’t worked it out we are a company that helps people in need and in disasters. We help people in countries adapt more to the climate change and give them the supplies they need to survive like: fresh water, food, shelter and warm clothes, and we teach others about climate change.

Exploring Mould

W.A.L.T : Identify the conditions needed for mould to grow. In class we have been learning about mould and we swabbed things and we made our own mould and this is mine. I enjoyed swabbing things, something I did well was explaining about the mould, something I could do better next time would be to go into more depth and talk more about the mould. 

Fair Test

This term my class have been learning about mould. We did a fair test on carrots and from that we had to do a D.L.O in a group of three about our fair test and this is mine. I enjoyed finding out if the bits of carrots had grown any mould. something I did well was thinking what to keep the same and what to do different. Something I could do better next time would be to change the size of the carrot to a bigger size.

Matariki

In class we have been learning about Matariki, and we had to do a D.L.O about it and I did six facts about Matariki. Something I enjoyed was learning about Matariki, something I did well was coming up with the Idea to have the facts in the stars, something I could do better next time would be to spend more time in making sure the words fit in the stars and make the stars and the words bigger so it is easier to read.

Top 10 Amazing Creations

W.A.L.T Create a cross on Turtle Academy using prior knowledge of coding instructions. I n class we have been learning about coding, and today task was to make a cross using coding, What I found hard was working out what instruction to make a cross.

Mother Teresa

In Class we had to choose a famous biography, learn about the person that you choose and do a DLO about that person and this is mine, I did my DLO about Mother Teresa. Something that I enjoyed was putting the quotes in every slide, something I did well was finding out most of the information and putting it into my own words, something I could do better next time is to add more pictures into my slideshow to make it even more interesting.

Ramadan

Fungus

We have been learning about Fungus and this is my DLO about Fungus. Something I did good was finding out the cycle of fungus. Something I need to work on is to but more information and put more pictures in this slide to make it more exciting.

Mould

We have been learning about mould, and have done an explanation about mould. I enjoyed doing this because I got to learn more about mould. Something I did well was planning and something I need to work on is my vocabulary.

Planning

How does mould grow?

Have you seen mould and have wondered how it grows? In this explanation you will Find out how it grows.

Mold, it starts off with spores, spores are cells that can make new individuals. Mold can almost grow anywhere e.g. wall, food and plants. Spores can live for a very long time and are airborne. Spores feed on dead plants and animal material, spores also love the wet, warm areas and where there is moisture. The spores then send out a hair-like tube called Hyphae/Hypha.

Hyphae/Hypha is a branching fiber that is found in plant structures that make up mycelium. The Hypha produces enzymes to speed up the chemical reaction.

Without mould we us humans couldn't survive. When you take a tablet some tablets are made up of moulds e.g. penicillin.

We can sometimes eat mould there are lots of foods that are made using moulds besides mushrooms, when someone is making bread they use yeast and yeast is a type of mould, bleu cheese is another one. A way mould play a part in our ecosystem is in trees, when a tree dies the mould turns the tree into soil.

In conclusion I think mould is good and plays a lot of parts in our life, from poisonous moulds to moulds you eat and use everyday.

Koalas

This week in class in reading we were learning about endangered animals and we had to do a DLO about an endangered animal and I chose a Koala. Something I enjoyed was putting the pictures in, something I did well was explaining what endangered means and putting the information into my own words, something I could do better is to add a video into my slide to make it more exciting.

The Holy Spirit

W.A.L.T.. Recognise the ways Te Wairua Tapu  the Holy Spirit prepares people to carry on the mission of the church. Something I did well is making it tidy and putting it in order. Something I need to work on is to put more pictures in and be more creative.

Suzanne Aubert

In class at reading time we had to do a DLO about Suzanne Aubert, if you don't know Suzanne Aubert I hope this slide show gives you a bit more understanding. I liked doing this because I didn't really know who Suzanne Aubert is but after doing this I have a better understanding. Something I did good was adding lots of information into this and putting it into my own words.

Two weeks passed and it happened again.

“I have been dreaming about mice since I got back from my holiday 2 weeks ago in Asia, I have been traveling the world well all my life and now it has come to a stop”

“Oh sorry my name is James, James Taylor, I am currently 48 years old, and have never got scared of anything before and LOVE to travel the world with my family and friends, This was my first time traveling to a place that has got mice.

Every time I go to bed and try to go to sleep I can’t it's like I'm having a trauma about mice, it's so hard to cope with, and this time it was the worst it's ever been. One night when I was walking to bed and I heard this noise so I check the door to see if anyone is there and check all around the house and nothing's there, but I might have an idea where to check next under the rug. So all of a sudden I get this idea that it's mice under the rug all I can think about is mice. I try to get it out of my head but I cant its just impossible, so I just right down my feelings and try to work out how I can catch those little creatures.

I feel so scared, worried and threatened right now. I could make a trap to see if the noise is coming from mice and where they come from. I don't know if it will work but i'll give it a try.

So I make up a trap and put it by the rug and see if anything comes out of the rug and it does I was right there is mice coming out of the rug and they are coming at me and biting me help me please help me.

At the moment yes I am writing down my feelings. I feel hurt, like i'm going to cry and thickly at the same time because when the mice were climbing up my legs and arms they are tickling me.

 

After all that happened my friend came over and said to me there is nothing to be scared of and he held on they never bit him he said they only bite when you are scared of them

I'm so happy i'm not scared of mice anymore hooray hooray. From that day on wards I was never scared of mice again.

Plants and animals

W.A.L.T: Differentiate between plant-like and animal-like characteristics of mould.
Today we did topic and we learnt about the  characteristics of  plant-like and animal-like. Something I did well is I know most of them. Something I need to work on is making them more tidy.

The Holiday Netball Program

In class we wrote a recount from the holidays and we were learning about the proper structure of a recount. Something I could do better next time is to use more punctuation.

The Holiday Netball Program

On the 27th of April in the school holidays there was a Rugby and Netball program ran by Margaret Foster and I was lucky enough to go. This program was for three days and this was this third day.

I arrived at the program at 8:45 am all pumped and ready to go. So we started the day off with this guy called Ged Robinson, coming in and talking to all of us about how we should all have a positive mind set,  and not a fixed mind set. ( A positive mind set is when you have goals and are determined to reach them, and a fixed mind set is when you have goals and you think they are too hard so you just give up. )

After we had learnt something new from Ged Robinson, just us Netball girls had this lady called Angela Stone come in. She talked to us about how she became famous in the fashion world. When Angela Stone had finished talking to us she even showed us how to walk confidently and that was amazing!

Meanwhile us girls were having a fantastic time and learning new things the boys were playing Rugby and learning new rugby skills, So when the boys came in, we all got into our own groups of seven because we were having a mini Netball tournament. I was incredibly shocked when I heard how the boys were going to join in and have their own team for the tournament. After we got into our tournament teams we got to make up our team name. First we came up with Tactics but there is a team already called that, so we just switched it around so now it's Tictacs. “ So let the games begin” said Marg smiling. There were only to courts to play on and there were six teams, The Tictacs (us) were one of the first team's on court so we didn't have time to warm up. The whistle blew and suddenly both games started. Our team was doing really well and sticking to our partners like glue but the other team managed to win. The score was 4-0. The whole tournament finished and the scores were recorded and it said the Tictacs lost every game and drew one.

After all that hard work we decided to have lunch yum yum, Lunch is usually half and hour to refill and get energy so we can have even more fun. So after when we had lunch, the rugby boys went back to rugby and the Netball girls did some defending skills, with Shelly and this other professional defender. By the time we had done that it was time to go home.

Overall I felt I really want to to this program all over again because I got to meet and work with new people and I gained new skills.  

Tongan Language

In term 1 we have been learning about Tongan language. I enjoyed learning about a different language. Something I could do better next time is to be more confident and explain more in the slides.

Order Of Our Everyday Life

W.A.L.T: Recognise that the order of operations matters in practical real life situations.

I enjoyed thinking about what goes where and something I could do better next time would be to space them out a bit more.

Easter Triduum

W.A.L.T.. to explain different phrases of the Easter Triduum. I enjoyed hiding some texts and some pictures in this prezi. Something I could do better next time could be to add more information into slides to tell you more about what happens on the days during Holy Week.

The Importance Of Animals Used In War

W.A.L.T.. To create a newspaper article about the importance of animals used in war. I enjoyed finding out information to write down. Something I could do better next time is to keep adding  more information to this so it is more interesting.

Life In The Trenches

W.A.L.T.. To read" life in the trenches" and describe how people risk their lives for others. I enjoyed  reading the text and putting it into my own words. Something I could do better next time is to put more points down.

Sams Flashback

W.A.L.T Write a flashback from a different perspective and use show not tell.

The book is called "The Anzac Puppy" by Peter Millett and Trish Bowles. I enjoyed doing this because you got to be that person and you used your imagination during this, Next time I will make sure I use punctuation and make the sentences more shorter.

As I come outside I am sweating like mad, it was as if  I was in a oven. All that I heard were some annoying noises boom, crash and bang coming from the explosions.

Running, hiding and shaking came the soldiers. When I saw them I felt some tears dropping from my cheek but then I feel some saliva on my face I realise it’s Freda trying to cheer me up. Freda is a good dog. She makes all the rats scuttle away. I am so lucky to have Freda. I feel so comforted now.

Strategies

We have been learning about Highest common factors. I enjoyed linking the numbers to what makes 24. Next time I could add more pictures and explain more.

Leader Creature

In class we have made our own leader Creature and we had to do a prezi about it. I enjoyed zooming in on parts and talking abut what the leader creature does. Something I could do better next time could be to add more slides and make it more intresting.

In class we have been learning about writing long numbers. I enjoyed making this and learning about this. Next time I could space things out a bit more.

Goldilocks

Last week on Friday our class had to write a story about Goldilocks but we had to put it in our own way, I really enjoyed making up part of this story, something I could do better is put more descriptive words in this piece of writing. 

Goldilocks

Once upon a time there was a young girl named Goldilocks, she was the only girl on this planet who was stinky she was so stinky she had dirty flies around her.

About one year ago her parents kicked Goldilocks out of the house because she couldn't control her stinky smell. One day Goldilocks was wondering about in the forest, she was as tired as a sloth and she was going to give up walking because she had lost so much of her energy, bot then suddenly out of nowhere a whole family of bears came walking towards Goldilocks. So she quickly shot behind a large tree, then finally she got out of her hiding spot and kept walking until she came across a cottage, Goldilocks was so impolite some she just walked in.

Goldilocks found some porridge lying on the table and straight away took notice of baby bear’s  one and scoffed it right up. In the sunlight that was shining through the window, you saw her eyes glimmering as she spotted a chair that looked very comfortable and just right, the next thing you knew Goldilocks was lying on the ground with broken pieces of baby bear’s chair scattered around her. ( Everyone knew what that meant that she was not right for baby bears chair even though it looked just right in Goldilocks eyes )

Once Goldilocks had finished eating and breaking a chair she decided to go up stairs and have a nap in one of the beds, as she was going up the stairs she heard footsteps coming from down stairs, she froze for a minute it was the bears so Goldilocks ran back downstairs, past the bears and out the door and into a pond to wash of her dirtiness. The bears looked with rage in their eyes while tried to put baby bear's chair back to normal. Goldilocks came home and gave her parents a big hug because she is now all clean. Goldilocks is happy but the bears decided not to leave their house again.
