Cell Phones Should Be Banned

W.A.L.T:  write a persuasive text.

For the last few weeks we had the task of writing a persuasive text about if cell phones should be banned or not, in my opinion they should be banned. Something I enjoyed was looking at facts, something I did well was writing lots of information in the paragraphs and something I could do better next time would be to add more facts to back up my information.

Cell Phones Should Be Banned In Schools

In my opinion I strongly believe that cell phones should be banned in all schools. Although cell phones are fun there are many negatives for having cell phones in school. Do you think that cell phones should be banned in school?

My first reason is that cell phones should be banned is because it is addictive and distracting. It keeps you away from work and learning, cell phones also disturb others who are trying to work and concentrate in class. Studies have proven that kids spend at least six or more hours a day on their phones. Cell phones just shut down the outside world around you and that a bad thing.

My next reason is that cell some students use their phones to cheat on tests. If they are struggling in a test students can simply look the question up and get the answer. Then they will never learn or want to learn because they have the use of their cell phones. Studies have shown that 35% of teens have admitted that they have used the cell phones to cheat on tests.

My third reason I am going to be talking about is stress. Stress can be caused by cell phones because if students don't finish their work in time the work will just keep piling up or their cell phone might get stolen or lost, this can also cause sleep loss and if kids don’t get the right amount of sleep they won’t be able to concentrate and work properly. It is a fact that people get really stressed because they can't balance time between phones and school.

My last and final reason is that cell phones can lead to cyberbullying. Some kids text and post rumours and mean things about other students and that is totally unfair towards others. Along with bullying students can also get peer pressured into doing something they don’t want to do that is because of cell phones.

Overall I strongly believe that cell phones should be banned from all schools. It can be harmful towards students and keep them away from school work. It is better for children to see the outside world and play, not be stuck on their phones.

This term our class novel we have been reading is Posted. every week we all have activities to complete, This is a working progress and I will be adding to this every week. Something I am enjoying is the book and activities, something I am doing well is completing the activities every week and something I am working on is adding more detail to the activities.

Country Study

This term we have been working on country study, we got to choose a country and I chose France, Every week I will be adding one or more activities for this term, What I have been enjoying is finding more about France, what I am doing well is putting detail into this slideshow and what I am working on is making it interesting for the people who see this post.

 

Myths And Legends From Ancient Greece About Their Cluster Of Stars

The last couple of week was have had two tasks to complete including this one. We had a range of countries to choose from and I picked Ancient Greece, we had to find some myths and legends about the country we chose and their cluster of stars. Something I enjoyed was researching, something I did well was finding some Myths and legends because it was hard and something I could do better next time would be to add some pictures to get people hooked into my presentation.

Matariki

This week for reading we have been looking at Matariki, our task was to create a D.L.O about Matariki and this is mine. Something I enjoyed was making a game, what I did well was adding lots of information and what I could do better next time would be to make the game a bit more exciting for the people who are playing the game.

Virtue

In class for R.E we have been learning about virtues and we had a task of making a D.L.O around what we have learnt and this is mine. Something I enjoyed was making my presentation in prezi, something I did well was giving examples of the qualities of virtuous and something I could do better next time would be to add more information and more slides about virtue so other people can get a better understanding of a virtue.

For quite some time we have been learning about The Commonwealth Games and we have a range of activities that we have to complete.

Interesting Places To Visit When You Are In The Gold Coast

For quite some time we have been learning about The Commonwealth Games since they have started now. There are a lot of activities that we can choose from and this is one of the activities I have finished this activity is some places you can visit when you are in the Gold Coast, since The Commonwealth games are held in the Gold Coast.

Something I enjoyed was thinking back to all the places we had gone to when my family and I went to the Gold Coast for a holiday, something I did well was drawing the pictures and something I could do better next time would be to add some pictures to the information for the Wet n Wild and Dream World.

For about seven weeks we have been learning about The Commonwealth Games since they have started now. There are a lot of activities that we can choose from and this is one of the activities I have finished this activity is What the Queen's Baton looks like and about the different parts of it.

Taonga

This week in reading we have been learning about Taonga and we had to make a D.L.O about some Taonga and what are the values of them, this is mine.

Something I enjoyed was making the D.L.O, something I did well was putting the information into my own words and something I could do better next time would be to make a D.L.O in something else e.g. gamefroot.

The Church Is One But Not Perfectly One.

                         W.A.L.T... Explain what is meant by saying the church is one. But not completely one.

This week in reading we have been learning about how the Church is one but it is not perfectly one, and we had to choose some activities from a list to do and I chose this one, we have to follow the instructions in the slideshow.

Something I enjoyed was add in the images of the catholic church's from each continent, something I did well was adding the names of some non - catholic denominations and something I could do better next time would be to add more images on slide four so that it is more interesting.

The Church Is A Community Of Disciples

W.A.L.T: Explain what is meant by the term Community of Disciples.

In reading we have been learning about the church is a community of disciples and we had to choose one                               activity and chose this one. you have to fill in the blanks and this is mine.
I enjoyed  learning about the Community of Disciples, something I did well was thinking what word goes where, and something I can do better next time would be to do something do make this post even more interesting. 

Pilgrim Church

In reading we have been learning about The church a Pilgrim people and we had to choose some activities and one of the activities I did this. we had to design a symbol that illustrates the pilgrim church and this is mine.

Something I enjoyed was drawing the Pilgrim Church, something I did well was making the Pilgrim Church interesting and something I can do better next time would be to add something that makes my Pilgrim Church even more interesting.

Climate Change Officer Job Advertisement.

W.A.L.T: Describe the qualities of someone who is an effective advocate tor others.

This week in reading we were given the task to create a job advertisement describing the necessary  qualities needed for a climate change officer, and this is mine.

I enjoyed creating this advertisement, something I did well was going into detail with the advertisement and something I can do better next time would be to add more information on where the climate change offer would work.

Climate Change Officer Job Advertisement

A Climate Change Officer is someone who helps countries manage and survive with some of the serious effects of climate change. They come up with plans to make sure if anything bad happens they have something to help or keep people safe.

To be a Climate Change Officer these are some of the responsibilities you will more then likely need: Arrange something like a warehouse so that there are supplies there that can be shipped to somewhere within days in case there is emergency somewhere, come up with some ideas for plans to help people if they are in trouble, try to get a message out on how to reduce climate change like: turn the lights out when you leave the room, unplug the chargers when you are not using them and if it's a cold day outside put warm clothes instead of putting the heat pump on.

These are the skills, experience and knowledge you will need to have to be a climate change officer: You should not be scared to take risks, you should have the experience of 2 years, you should have the knowledge of all the weather that could happen and know all about climate change to be in this role.

These are the rewards you will get if you are the climate change officer: Once a month you will visit each poor country that have been affected from climate change and get some toys and give them to the babies/children and spend the day with them. You will also get to go to each poor country and give them food and fresh water once a week. Once a week you will get paid $800 to do whatever you want but every second week you have an option to keep the $800 or you can put some of it towards helping people adapt to climate change.

To be an climate change officer you will be working in different areas like work in the office and on scene. If there is a really bad disaster you will more likely be coming to help because the more people the better.

If you are applying you will need to know the company better, so if you haven’t worked it out we are a company that helps people in need and in disasters. We help people in countries adapt more to the climate change and give them the supplies they need to survive like: fresh water, food, shelter and warm clothes, and we teach others about climate change.
