Onomatopoeia Poem

W.A.L.T: Use onomatopoeia in poetry.
In class for writing we wrote an  onomatopoeia poem about fireworks and this is mine. Something I enjoyed was writing the poem, something I did well was describing the fireworks and something I could do better next time would be to make the sentences rhyme.

Boom, bang, pop! Boom, bang pop!
Goes the fireworks flying high in the night sky

Pow, woosh, sizzle! Pow, woosh, sizzle!
I can see them glistening in the sky

Pew, crackle, fizz! Pew, crackle, fizz!
I can smell the fireworks burning in the air

    Hey Siobhan,
My name is Miss McCormick. I teach over at Wigram Primary School! I've just popped in to see what you guys are doing at St. B's! I stumbled across your poem and it was so great to be able to see all the Onomatopoeia words that you have used. Some of our learners here at Wigram are also trying to get Onomatopoeia words into their writing to make it more interesting!
I agree that you have described the fireworks really well!
When I am reading, sometimes I like to see a visual to go with it. Maybe next time you could add a picture to go with your writing!
    Great work Siobhan!
